When Sinead contacted me first to tell me her and John’s story, we instantly connected. Sinead had a real love for Ireland, especially Cork. Her Father was born and raised in Cork, and she still had family in the area. The three of us set upon putting the plans together, for what would be their Dream Destination Wedding in Ireland.
The Wedding Planning begins…
Sinead & John had looked online at quite a few venues and were slightly overwhelmed with all the options in Ireland. When we first kicked off the planning, Sinead, John and I had a Skype call. During this call, I asked them questions about what their dream day would look like. We discussed everything from the location, to the feeling, to the look, and chatted about their families and what it would mean to be married in Ireland. I was touched by their story because they really wanted to create a true Irish experience for their guests traveling to Ireland from the US.
Sinead is an Interior Designer. Because of this, the pressure was certainly on to find that perfect wedding venue! As we got into the planning, there was one venue that I felt perfectly suited their needs for their destination wedding in Ireland. That ‘one’ was Longueville House, Mallow. Thankfully, Sinead and John instantly fell in love with its uniqueness. The idea that you can take over the entire house, and it becomes a real Irish home for you and your guests. The working farm and the food is a true Irish farm to fork experience. And in addition to all that, they make their own cider, and brandy with the distillery onsite. I can’t forget to mention, the landscape, the apple orchards, the vineyard and the walled garden. It was certainly the one for them!
Why I love my job as a Wedding Planner!
Throughout the planning, it was such a pleasure to work with Sinead and John on their Wedding in Ireland. They were utterly grateful, and I enjoyed becoming a part of their lives as we worked towards the Wedding Day. When they finally arrived in Ireland on the week of the Wedding, I cannot describe the joy as we met for the first time. Sinead, John and their guests truly enjoyed the experience from start to finish. It was a magical day and there is nothing better than seeing everyone smiling all day long, enjoying the music, the entertainment, the food and the artisan cider.
What did I enjoy the most from working with Sinead and John? I mostly enjoyed making a dream come true for Sinead & John, and meeting their family and friends.
A Testimonial From Sinead & John
We connected with Martina in a very “meant to be” way in which we knew the universe was bringing us together for a reason. Planning a destination wedding in Ireland from the US with family in both places was a daunting task. We started looking at wedding venues initially on our own in Ireland during a visit in October 2017 and it felt like fate when we connected with Martina during that time. From that point on she became our “go to” gal for all things wedding related.
We never would’ve been able to pull off this “destination wedding” without her ultimate organization, attention to detail and ability to keep us on schedule and on budget through the entire planning process. But most importantly, her ability to connect with us on a personal level that felt so genuine is what we valued most. We can honestly say that every vendor that Martina brought to us to create our beautiful day was just as talented and amazing as her. She knows what she’s doing and she knew exactly what we wanted! We feel so lucky to have had her by our side to make this special day one we (and our guests) will never forget. Thank you Martina!
All their wedding suppliers were local. Each one I knew would be perfect for them both and would enhance their day. Here are some photo’s by their fabulous photographer, White Cat Studio. They really tell the story of Sinead and John’s Wedding day in Ireland.
